As we move into the fall season, we want to share a few important reminders to help keep your financial life secure and your plans on track. This month, we’re highlighting the importance of maintaining a Trusted Contact, staying vigilant against cyber threats, and recognizing Insurance Awareness Month.

The Importance of Having a Trusted Contact on File

As many of you know, life can bring unexpected changes, and having a Trusted Contact on your account is one of the simplest ways to help safeguard your financial well-being.

A Trusted Contact is someone you authorize us to reach out to if we are unable to contact you directly or if there are concerns about your health, well-being, or potential financial exploitation. This individual does not have authority over your account, cannot make transactions, and does not receive access to account information beyond what is necessary to help us connect with you.

If you have not designated a Trusted Contact or would like to review the information we have on file, please contact our office. Taking a few minutes today can help protect your financial future tomorrow.

Protecting Yourself from Cyber Threats

Cybersecurity remains a critical concern as fraudsters continue to develop new ways to target individuals and businesses. We encourage all clients to take proactive steps to protect their personal and financial information.

Please take a few moments to review the attached Schwab Cyber Security Brochure.

Remember, cybersecurity is a shared responsibility. Staying informed and alert can significantly reduce the risk of becoming a victim of cybercrime.

September is Life Insurance Awareness Month

September is recognized as Life Insurance Awareness Month and it’s an excellent opportunity to review your current coverages to ensure they continue to align with your needs and goals.

Major life events such as marriage, the birth of a child, purchasing a home, career changes, or approaching retirement can all impact your insurance needs. Regular reviews can help identify gaps in coverage and ensure your family and assets remain protected.

Insurance, including life insurance, is a key component of a comprehensive financial plan, helping to protect the wealth you’ve worked hard to build. If it has been a while since you reviewed your coverage, now is a good time to revisit your policies and discuss if changes or updates are needed. If you don’t currently have any life insurance in place, please contact us for a needs analysis.

WMS Client Information Sheet

For our newer clients, or for anyone who may want a refresher, we have attached our new WMS Client Information Sheet. This guide provides helpful information about our team, office contact details, account access resources, and answers to frequently asked questions.

It also includes instructions for accessing your Schwab Alliance and Black Diamond portals, securely submitting documents, and identifying the appropriate team member for assistance with planning, account service, reporting, and operational questions.

We encourage you to save it for future reference as a convenient resource for navigating your relationship with WMS Advisors.
